KENNEWICK, WA – One person was injured in an early morning explosion and fire in the Finley area, east of the Tri-Cities, on Friday morning.

According to Benton County Fire District #1, multiple fire departments and law enforcement were dispatched to a recreational vehicle fire on E. Finley Rd. at 2:17 a.m.

When crews arrived, a Class A motorhome was fully involved with fire. Firefighters were able to knock down the flames and get the fire under control by 2:35 a.m.

One woman and a dog were inside when the fire started. A neighbor who heard the explosion helped the injured woman and her dog out of the motorhome. She was taken to the hospital with what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
