KAMIAH, Idaho: August 4, 2023— The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests announced a road closure on Smith Ridge Road (Forest Service Road 700) on Friday, July 21, 2023. The road will be closed from its intersection with the 297 Trail to its terminus from 7 AM until 5 PM, Monday thru Friday throughout the summer. It will be open from 5 PM Friday until 7 AM Monday throughout the project. In addition to this closure, work will also be occurring from the intersection of 700 Road and 247 Road to the 297 trail. Visitors should anticipate lengthy delays of up to 4 hours during this work. This project to repair and improve the road will include maintenance, repair, and culvert replacement operations.
