LEWISTON – Treasurer Rebecca “Missy” McLaughlin is warning the community of an ongoing scam regarding property tax collections.
Multiple people in Nez Perce County have received a notice in the mail claiming to collect an overdue debt and requesting they call 800-430-6789 to address the nonpayment.
“This letter and phone number is a scam and should be thrown away immediately. My office does not have or use an 800 number,” said Treasurer McLaughlin.
