KAMIAH, Idaho:— As the western larch leaves on our forests change colors for their winter transition, the Lolo Pass Visitor Center will also transition to new winter hours of operation. Beginning October 22nd, 2023, the visitor center will be open 7 days a week instead of five days a week. On November 1st, 2023, operating hours will change to 7:30am to 3:00pm PST. We hope to see you on the snow trails this winter!
The Lolo Pass Visitor Center is located on Highway 12, just across the border from Montana at the summit of Lolo Pass. Opened in 2003, this state-of-the-art facility features exhibits on ecology, natural history, and the long and enduring relationship between the Nez Perce Tribe and this part of their traditional homeland. The surrounding landscape is home to wolves, moose, elk, foxes, and numerous other species of animals. During the snowy winter, it is a popular destination for skiing, snowmobiling, snowplay, and snowshoeing.
