The Lewiston Fire Department responded for a report of a structure fire at 1422 Linden Avenue at 8:47 PM. First arriving crews found an older style camp trailer with smoke and flames coming from the windows. No other structures were threatened. The owner was on scene and stated no one was in the trailer.
Crews quickly extinguished the fire and found the cause of the fire to be a space heater placed to close to combustible materials. The trailer and its contents were a total loss.
The department responded with two structural engines, one ambulance and one chief officer for a total of nine personnel.
The damage estimate is approximately $5,000 for trailer and contents. No firefighter or civilian injuries were reported.
