March 13, 2024 (Moscow, Idaho) — Commencing today, City crews will initiate the demolition process for the awning situated atop the East City Park stage. Following a thorough evaluation of the over 40-year-old wooden framework, significant deterioration in crucial support beams has been identified, necessitating the precautionary dismantling of the awning section.
 
During the construction period, the stage area will be securely cordoned off for approximately two weeks. Crews will undertake removal of the awning structure and install sheeting on the stage floor. This sheeting will facilitate reopening of the stage for utilization by the community while the City explores potential grant opportunities and accrues funds for replacement of the stage.
