LEWISTON – On Saturday, April 20, 2024, at or around 10:20 a.m., the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a side-by-side that rolled over onto a juvenile male on Steigers Road. When Deputies arrived on the scene, they lifted the UTV off of the male and began life-saving measures. Medics arrived shortly afterward and took over life-saving measures. The male was transported via Life Flight to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center for treatment. 
The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public that juveniles must be closely supervised while on off-road vehicles and must possess a valid driver’s license if they are driving. They must also be wearing a helmet if they are under the age of 18. We would also like to remind the public that off-road vehicles are not toys and should be handled with care.
