Kootenai County, Idaho –On April 21, 2024 at about 2:40 PM, rescue units from Coeur d’ Alene Fire and Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office Back Country responded to the area of Canfield Mountain on FSR 1562 for a dirt bike crash involving a juvenile male. The male was being assisted by fellow dirt bikers who remained with him until rescue units arrived.  The juvenile was treated for a possible leg fracture and taken by ambulance to Kootenai Health.

The juvenile rider was wearing all appropriate riding gear including a helmet, chest protector, and suitable riding boots.   While riding down a trail, the soft clay gave way and his tires came out from under him.  He is expected to be fine after treatment.
