Police Pursuit Leads to Single-Vehicle Crash in Boise

MERIDIAN – Idaho State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash following a traffic pursuit that started at 3:27 p.m., eastbound on Interstate 84 at milepost 41, in Ada County.
A media release from Idaho State Police indicated that an Idaho State Police Trooper attempted to make a traffic stop on a Silver 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix for reckless driving. The driver, a 20-year-old male from Caldwell, failed to yield, and the trooper pursued the vehicle. The trooper discontinued the pursuit when the driver went towards downtown Boise. The vehicle then crashed, caught fire, and started a brush fire. The driver fled on foot and was later apprehended by the Boise Police Department near the area of Lawrence Ave. and McMullen St. in Boise. A second subject, a 20-year-old male from Caldwell, was taken into custody for aiding and abetting. Both subjects are facing felony charges.
This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
