Scammers are using a caller ID that appears to be from P1FCU and claiming to be from the “fraud department.” They attempt to trick victims into revealing personal information, such as social security numbers, birth dates, or account numbers.

Police are reminding area residents to never share personal information over the phone, even if the caller sounds convincing. If you receive such a call, hang up and contact your bank directly to verify whether the call was legitimate.
