98-Year-Old Moscow man Dies After Crash on US95 South of Moscow

MOSCOW, ID – Idaho State Police are investigating a single vehicle fatality crash that occurred on US95, south of Moscow, on Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, a light green Honda CR-V, driven by a 98-year-old male from Moscow, was traveling northbound on Highway 95 near milepost 343, just south of Moscow. At about 4:15 p.m., the vehicle drove off the right side of the highway into the ditch and crashed into a telephone pole.

The driver was the only occupant in the vehicle and was wearing a seatbelt.

Police say the man sustained severe injuries during the crash and succumbed to his injuries on scene.

The highway was closed for 30 minutes before a single lane was reopened to allow alternating directions of traffic to pass. After another 30 minutes, both lanes of travel were fully reopened.

Moscow Police Department, Moscow Fire & EMS, Latah County Sheriff’s Office, and Idaho Transportation Department assisted with the incident.
