North Idaho Man Convicted of Bomb Possession Arrested in Indiana After Fleeing Sentencing

COEUR D’ALENE, ID – 58-year-old Daniel P. Floyd was arrested in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Thursday morning. Floyd was convicted in 2024 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, for Unlawful Possession of Destructive Devices or Bombs. On February 21, 2025, he failed to appear for his sentencing hearing. That same day, the First Judicial District Court in Boundary County issued an arrest warrant for Failure to Appear.

The Boundary County Sheriff’s Office, Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, and the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) determined Floyd had fled the state and was not planning to return. The USMS Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force collaborated with the USMS Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force in Indiana to apprehend him.

Floyd is currently in custody at the Allen County Jail in Fort Wayne and is awaiting transport back to Bonners Ferry for sentencing.

U.S. Marshal Brent Bunn of the District of Idaho acknowledged the partnerships between law enforcement agencies in North Idaho and nationwide. Bunn credited the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office and the USMS Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force for their role in the arrest.

The USMS Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force operates statewide to locate and apprehend violent offenders wanted for state and federal crimes. Participating agencies include the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, Coeur d’Alene Police Department, Idaho Department of Corrections, Idaho State Police, Nampa Police Department, Pocatello Police Department, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
