LEWISTON, ID – The Lewiston Fire Department has announced the promotion of Engineer Brian Burke.

Burke, a graduate of Lewis-Clark State College, was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 2010 before returning to the LC Valley, where he has since built a career in firefighting. He joined the Lewiston Fire Department as a Reserve Firefighter in April 2014 and has served with distinction.

In 2024, Burke was awarded the department’s Medal of Valor for his service. Fire Chief Greg Rightmier recognized Burke’s leadership qualities, stating that he serves “his family and community with courage, conviction, and compassion.”

The department congratulated Burke on his promotion and acknowledged his ongoing contributions to the community.
