LEWISTON, ID – The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for a Lateral Patrol Deputy position. The role involves patrolling local areas, enforcing criminal and civil laws, investigating complaints and incidents, making arrests, and assisting the public. Deputies also serve civil processes and work closely with other law enforcement personnel, agency employees, and the community to provide quality service.
The starting hourly wage for the position is $29.20 per hour, dependent on experience, with a benefits package included. Applicants must meet certain minimum qualifications, including Idaho POST Basic Patrol certification or the ability to obtain certification within six months of employment. Candidates should have at least two years of law enforcement experience, be able to work all shifts, and pass a medical screening, background check, and psychological and polygraph exams.
Interested individuals must submit a Sheriff’s Application, which can be obtained at the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office at 1150 Wall St., Lewiston, or downloaded from the county’s website. The deadline for applications is Friday, April 4, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Applications should be submitted to the Sheriff’s Executive Coordinator by that time for consideration.
