NEW ORLEANS, LA – April Buckingham earned one of the biggest individual wins of her career on Sunday in LC State Women’s Tennis’ 6-1 loss to No. 8 Xavier (La.). The senior picked up the lone point for the Warrior women in singles action.

Buckingham teamed up with Beatriz Lambru in the top doubles spot and the pair lost 6-3, as did Heidi Moyo and Paige Noble-Lucas in the No. 2 slot. XULA swept doubles to take a 1-0 lead.

Buckingham earned a three-set win at No. 5 singles to highlight the day for LC State. After a loss in the first set, she won the second before taking the third shortened set with the overall contest decided. Buckingham earned her win by scores of 3-6, 6-4, 11-9.
