PULLMAN, WA – Former Pullman High School basketball standout who later made the cover of Sports Illustrated, Ali Farokhmanesh has been hired head coach of Colorado State men’s basketball.
Farokhmanesh was announced as the Rams new coach on Wednesday night. He played for the Greyhounds in the mid 2000’s before moving to Iowa City. The family moved when Farokhmanesh’s mother Cindy Fredrick was hired head coach of University of Iowa volleyball. She had been the head coach at Washington State University.
In 2010 Farokhmanesh made the cover of SI when his Northern Iowa basketball team made a March Madness run.
