LEWISTON — Lewiston High School head football coach Matt Pancheri announced on Facebook that he is stepping down after eight years leading the Bengal Football program.

In his message to the community, Pancheri shared that the decision came after “a lot of thought and prayer,” and said it was the right choice for him and his family.

“I have grown personally and professionally working with a team that is so devoted to our students and our athletes,” he wrote. He thanked the administration, fellow educators, coaching staff, players, and supporters for their dedication to the program.

Pancheri added that he is committed to helping ensure a smooth transition and expressed confidence in the team’s future success.

“LHS has the best technology, equipment and facilities along with fantastic students,” he said. “GO BENGALS!”
