MOSCOW, ID – Emergency responders will be conducting a highly visible training drill at the University of Idaho Thursday afternoon.
The drill is from 1:00 to 4:00 at Memorial Gym. The drill scenario will test police and fire units response to an active assailant. The exercise will involve simulated gunfire. The gym will be taped off during the drill, and Rayburn Street will be closed to traffic between 6th Street and Nez Perce Drive. The media might also be involved with the drill.
The exercise will include the Moscow Police and Fire Departments and the Latah County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities are advising the public that Thursday afternoon’s heavy police and fire presence at the UI is only a drill.
