Man Arrested After Stolen Wallet and Cards Found During Search of his Lewiston Motel Room

LEWISTON, ID – A 41-year-old homeless man, Christo Clarence Xiggenis, has been arrested and charged with burglary and grand theft after officers recovered a stolen Louis Vuitton wallet and several transaction cards tied to a vehicle burglary.

According to court documents, the Lewiston Police Department began investigating after a wallet was reported stolen from a blue 2019 Kia Rio parked at a Lewiston residence. The theft likely occurred between March 26 and March 27, 2025. The wallet was later found discarded on Main Street in Lewiston.

The wallet contained several items including debit and credit cards, a driver’s license, and other forms of identification. On April 8, a man turned in the recovered cards to police after finding them in a dumpster at the Nom Nom gas station at 1425 Main Street. Police contacted the wallet’s original owner and confirmed the theft had not yet been reported.

On March 29, police had executed a search warrant at the FairBridge Inn at 1325 Main Street in Lewiston, where Xiggenis had been staying. The warrant was connected to an investigation involving posted stolen items online. During the search, officers located a Louis Vuitton wallet in Xiggenis’ room that matched the one reported stolen. Police body camera footage confirmed the visual match.

Police say Xiggenis admitted to possessing the wallet, claiming he had received it from someone at a fair. He also sent messages to another individual trying to sell the wallet. Investigators linked the wallet to a series of vehicle burglaries that occurred between March 17 and March 27 in Lewiston. Xiggenis allegedly admitted he knew some of the items in his possession were stolen.

In addition to the wallet, police recovered a debit card belonging to another individual whose vehicle had been burglarized. Officers confirmed the card had been reported stolen and was placed into evidence.

Xiggenis was arrested by Lewiston Police on Tuesday night at the Main Street Nom Nom location and booked into the Nez Perce County Jail on one count of burglary and five counts of grand theft.  However, court records show that prosecutors are only pursuing one count or grand theft at this time.

Xiggenis appeared in court on Wednesday.  Bond was set at $50,000.
