CLARKSTON, WA — Cameron J. Gonzalez, 48, of Clarkston has been charged with first-degree rape of a child following a multi-agency investigation involving law enforcement in both Clarkston and Lewiston.

According to court records filed on February 27, 2025, a middle school-aged child reported a history of abuse involving Gonzalez, whom she had previously lived with in Clarkston. The initial disclosure was made to a school counselor and later shared with Lewiston Police, prompting a forensic interview and additional investigation.

The child described multiple incidents of abuse, including one that allegedly occurred in the summer of 2018. At the time, the child was five years old and Gonzalez was 41. Investigators confirmed that the two lived together at a residence in Clarkston during that time, and police records show prior calls to the address.

An Asotin County warrant for the arrest of Gonzalez was issued on February 27.  Additional incidents allegedly occurred after the family moved to Lewiston. Those are currently under investigation by Idaho authorities.

Gonzalez was arrested and booked into the Asotin County Jail on Tuesday.  The Asotin County Prosecutor’s Office had requested that bond be set at $250,000, citing Gonzalez’s past warrant history and concerns for the safety of the victim and the public.

Gonzalez appeared in court on Wednesday where bond was set at $150,000.  His arraignment has been set for April 21.
