SPOKANE, WA – An argument between family members turned violent Monday afternoon in Spokane Valley, resulting in two women being hospitalized and a third taken into custody.
Deputies with the Spokane Valley Sheriff’s Office were dispatched at approximately 3:40 p.m. on April 21 to a home in the 8200 block of East Boone Avenue following reports of a stabbing. When they arrived, they encountered 43-year-old Teri L. Suiter outside the residence, armed with a knife and threatening to harm herself. Deputies used a taser to subdue her and took her into custody.
Inside the home, officers located two adult women—identified as Suiter’s relatives—suffering from suspected stab wounds. Deputies provided emergency medical assistance until Spokane Valley Fire Department crews arrived. Both victims were then transported to the hospital with injuries described as serious but not life-threatening.
Suiter, who sustained minor injuries during the incident, was also transported to a medical facility for treatment and evaluation. Authorities said she would be booked into Spokane County Jail on two felony charges of first-degree assault once she is medically cleared.
Given the nature and severity of the injuries, detectives from the Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and have assumed responsibility for the ongoing investigation. Law enforcement remained on site into the evening to process evidence.
Individuals with any information related to the incident are urged to contact the Spokane Valley Police Department.
