Bennett Lumber Asks Public to Return Missing Railroad Ties from Restoration Project

POTLATCH, ID – The new owners of the rail line in North Latah County are having trouble with people taking what appears to be old railroad ties.

Bennett Lumber has purchased the rail between the state line and their mill near Princeton. The timber company has hired a contractor to refurbish the rail.

Some old ties next to the tracks have been taken. A Bennett Lumber post on Facebook points out that the ties might be mistaken for scrap but they are not and the ties are the company’s property.

Anyone who took ties can contact Bennett Lumber to return the property. Anyone who sees ties being taken are also asked to contact the company.
