LC State to Award 892 Degrees and Certificates at May 9 Commencement

LEWISTON, ID – Lewis-Clark State College is expected to award 892 degrees and certificates to 753 graduates at its two commencement ceremonies at the P1FCU Activity Center on Friday, May 9.

A total of 448 graduates are expected to participate in the ceremonies.

LC State’s first ceremony will start at 10 a.m. and will feature graduates from the School of Liberal Arts & Sciences and School of Career & Technical Education. The second ceremony will begin at 2 p.m., featuring the School of Professional & Graduate Studies.

The ceremonies will honor a number of individuals including retiring emeritus faculty members Heidee McMillin and Teresa Nash. Chris Loseth, president and CEO of P1FCU, will receive the President’s Medallion award for his significant impact on the college, community, and region through distinguished leadership and personal service and dedication.

Among the student awards, Xander McDowell will receive the Gertrude Mellen Dick Award, given to the student with the highest cumulative GPA for four years of undergraduate work; Brandon Cabrera will receive the President’s Award for outstanding contributions to the college, his division, fellow classmates and the community; and Michelle Adams will be the recipient of the Provost’s Award, given to a high-achieving student who earned the majority of their degree credits through online coursework.
