Southern Idaho Pastor and Daycare Director Faces Felony Sex Crime Charges

MOUNTAIN HOME, ID – A Mountain Home man has been arrested and charged with two felonies following a months-long investigation by the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office.

Gregory Wayne Jones, 57, was taken into custody on April 25 in connection with allegations of human sex trafficking and sexual penetration involving a victim who was allegedly unable to resist due to the influence of an intoxicating substance. The charges stem from an incident reported to have occurred in September 2024.

Jones served as the director of operations at The NXT Dream Center, a nonprofit organization offering preschool, childcare, and after-school programs in Mountain Home. He is also listed as the pastor at Liberty Christian Fellowship Church, according to East Idaho News and Idaho News.

According to the sheriff’s office, multiple victims have come forward during the investigation, providing information that significantly advanced the case. Authorities believe there may be additional victims and are encouraging anyone with relevant information to contact the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office.

Jones appeared in court for arraignment on April 28, where a judge appointed a public defender and issued a no-contact order. Court records show that subpoenas have been issued and related documents have been sealed. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 8.

The case remains under investigation. Jones is currently being held at the Elmore County Detention Center. The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office emphasized that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
