DENVER, CO – A man wanted in Idaho for allegedly eluding law enforcement and assaulting a federal officer has been arrested in Denver by a U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) task force.
According to a May 1, 2025 news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Idaho, 37-year-old Guillermo Alejandro-Morales was taken into custody after a multi-agency investigation tracked him to the Denver area. Alejandro-Morales had been the subject of arrest warrants issued in March and April by the First Judicial District Court in Kootenai County and the U.S. District Court in Coeur d’Alene, respectively.
The charges stem from an incident in March 2025, during which Alejandro-Morales allegedly evaded an attempted arrest by the U.S. Border Patrol and Idaho State Police. Authorities say the pursuit crossed into Washington before he was able to flee the area.
Following the incident, law enforcement agencies including the Idaho State Police, Idaho Department of Corrections, Homeland Security Investigations, and USMS task forces in both Coeur d’Alene and Spokane conducted a joint search. Investigators later determined that Alejandro-Morales had left the region and relocated to Denver.
The USMS Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force shared intelligence with its Denver counterpart, which led to the arrest.
United States Marshal Brent Bunn praised the coordinated effort, stating, “As a result of extensive investigative work by many law enforcement agencies from various jurisdictions, a dangerous fugitive wanted for assault on a federal officer and eluding police in north Idaho was safely apprehended in Colorado.”
The Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force is a collaborative unit that includes agencies such as the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, Coeur d’Alene Police Department, Idaho Department of Corrections, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Authorities continue to encourage the public to report information about fugitives to their local U.S. Marshals office or through the tip line at www.usmarshals.gov/tips.
