LEWISTON, ID – Coach Austin Johnson announced the first signing of incoming freshman Carter Hansen. The Auburn, Wash., will join the Warriors in the fall.

Hansen was a standout at Auburn High School where he averaged 16.5 points, 4.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game. The 5-10 guard shot 48% from the field and 41% from 3-point range. He was named to the 4A All-State Team and league MVP after his senior season.

“We’re excited to add Carter,” Johnson said. “He had a very successful career playing for his dad, Ryan Hansen, at Auburn and is used to playing in big moments against great competition. He has played in a lot of State tournament games and knows what it means to chase a championship. Carter has a lot of winning qualities that we expect to carry over to the college level. As he gets stronger and adjusts to the physicality of our level, he will really have a chance to shine.”

Hansen helped Auburn High School to league and district titles in every year of his career. He also helped lead the team to multiple State appearances. He played AAU basketball for Big Drip Hoops.

“I chose LC State because they treated me like family and made me feel at home on my visit,” Hansen said. “I really enjoyed the campus and facilities. I am looking forward to getting there and building great relationships with the team and work to improve.”
