Crime Scene

PAYETTE, ID – Police are investigating the deaths of two 18-month-old twin siblings, found unresponsive in their home early Thursday morning. Officers were called to a residence in the 1300 block of North 9th Street at approximately 11:30 a.m. after receiving a 911 report about a possibly deceased child. Upon arrival, authorities confirmed that both children had died.

Out of respect for the family’s privacy, the identities of the victims and their family members have not been released. The cause of death remains under investigation, with law enforcement working closely with multiple agencies to ensure a thorough review of the circumstances.

“This is an incredibly tragic event that impacts not just the family, but the entire community,” said a Payette Police Department statement. “We ask for the public’s patience and understanding as we continue to investigate.”

The cause of death is still under investigation, but the case is reportedly being investigated as a homicide.

Authorities are urging the community to avoid speculation and respect the ongoing investigation. “We are committed to gathering all the facts and ensuring justice for these children,” the statement said.
