BOISE, ID – Idaho voters planning to participate in the upcoming May 20, 2025 Consolidated Election have until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9, to request an absentee ballot, according to the Idaho Secretary of State’s Office.
Local taxing district elections will be held in 37 of Idaho’s 44 counties. Seven counties—Blaine, Butte, Clark, Custer, Elmore, Lemhi, and Washington—will not have elections on the May 20 ballot.
The election will cover a wide range of local issues and races, including contests for highway, hospital, auditorium, and library districts, as well as school bonds and levies. Specific measures vary by location.
“Local elections are a powerful way to shape the decisions that affect our daily lives,” said Secretary of State Phil McGrane, encouraging voters to participate.
Early voting is underway and continues through Friday, May 16, where available. All absentee ballots must be returned by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, May 20.
