UPDATE: Death of Man Found in Spokane Valley RV Now Considered Homicide

SPOKANE VALLEY, WA — The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office has announced that the death of a man found inside a parked RV on May 6 is now being investigated as a homicide.

Major Crimes Detectives responded after a caller reported discovering a deceased male inside a 1988 Winnebago motorhome in the 6500 block of East Broadway Avenue around noon. Initial findings led investigators to treat the case as a suspicious death, but new information has since led detectives to classify it as a homicide.

Investigators believe the victim and RV arrived at the East Broadway location, between North Dyer Road and Interstate 90, sometime on Sunday, May 4. However, the RV and victim may have been in the Spokane or Coeur d’Alene area for several months prior.

Detectives are now seeking assistance from the public. They are specifically looking for:

  • Information about the RV or individuals associated with it between May 4 and May 6 in the area of East Broadway and I-90.

  • Details on any other locations where the RV may have been parked between April and May 4.

Images of the RV have been released as part of the investigation. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact Major Crimes Detective M. Melville at 509-477-3325 and reference case #10060432.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased, as well as the cause and manner of death, at a later time.
