COLFAX, WA – Deputies in Whitman County were dispatched to a weapons offense in Garfield on Sunday.
According to the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office, just past 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, witnesses reported a man was standing on the shoulder of a city street, near Grumpy’s Tavern, and pointed a pistol at two victims as they drove by in their vehicle.
The male suspect then reportedly entered Grumpy’s Tavern. Deputies arrived and made contact with the suspect inside the tavern. The weapon involved in the incident had already been taken and secured by customers of the tavern.
The suspect told deputies there were people in his house and his dog had been shot. Deputies checked the residence and found nothing to substantiate the suspect’s claims.
51-year-old Fritz Raymond Henn, of Garfield, was arrested on two counts of second degree attempted assault and weapons prohibited in certain places. He was booked into the Whitman County Jail.
