CLARKSTON, WA – Area officers and their dogs were utilizing Asotin County Fire District #1 Station Monday for training.
Officers from around the region including Lewiston Police Department, Moscow Police Department, Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho County Sheriff’s Office and Precision K-9 Detection were utilizing the fire District station.
There were 7 detection dogs all trained in narcotics seachimg the facility for odors planted in different locations. Monday’s training was focused on handler odor detection.
Training organizer Cassie Frary said, it truly helps us as handlers and our K-9s become better by having the opportunity to work in different environments.

Asotin County Fire District #1 Chief Noel Hardin stated he is very happy to see this type of training happening at the fire district training center. He said one of the original goals of the new station project was to have a training center where all first responders could practice and refine their skills in public safety.
