MCCALL, ID – A fire that destroyed a shop and garage in McCall on Monday evening was caused by an e-bike charging unit, according to the Idaho State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Investigators determined the charging equipment started the fire, which completely destroyed the structure and its contents. No injuries were reported, but the owner lost all personal belongings stored inside, along with tools and two vehicles.

The Idaho State Fire Marshal’s Office reminded the public to follow safety recommendations when charging and storing battery-powered devices. The exact time of the incident and estimated value of damages were not released.
