LEWISTON, ID – Idaho State Police are participating in the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance International Roadcheck, a 72-hour high-visibility enforcement and education initiative across North America.

Through Thursday, ISP’s Commercial Vehicle Safety inspectors will stop commercial motor vehicles at weigh stations, roadside locations, and mobile patrols to verify compliance with federal safety regulations.

This year’s national focus includes:

Inspections primarily include the Level I Inspection, a 37-step review of the driver’s credentials and the vehicle’s mechanical condition. Vehicles that pass without critical violations may receive a CVSA decal, valid for 90 days.

Remember, if you see ISP CVS Troopers or other officers conducting inspections on the roadside, slow down and move over. Let’s work together to protect lives—yours, ours, and everyone else on the road.
