LEWISTON, ID – A Lewiston man was arrested this week following an investigation into allegations of child sexual exploitation and sexual abuse of a minor, according to court documents filed in Nez Perce County.
Dylan M. Gilmore, 23, faces two felony charges stemming from a joint investigation by the Lewiston Police Department and the FBI, which began after a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was filed in October 2024.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, an internet messaging company submitted the tip after detecting suspected child sexual abuse material being transmitted through its platform by an account identified as “igonttell109.” The image, reviewed by law enforcement, depicted a young child in an explicit manner. Investigators linked the account to multiple IP addresses in Lewiston.
The FBI and Lewiston Police identified Gilmore as a suspect following surveillance operations and records subpoenas. Gilmore was reportedly associated with a residence on 9th Avenue and was frequently observed driving a vehicle registered to an acquaintance at an address where the internet service was linked to the offending account.
Investigators served search warrants on the internet messaging company, which returned chat logs and media files. According to court records, the user of the account engaged in numerous conversations soliciting and distributing child sexual abuse material. The messages also included explicit conversations with a self-identified 15-year-old, authorities stated.
Further investigation led law enforcement to compare tattoos visible in photographs sent through the messaging account to Gilmore’s tattoos. Officers noted a distinctive tattoo on Gilmore’s thumb matched images sent from the account in question.
On Wednesday, law enforcement arrested Gilmore in Lewiston.
Authorities indicated that no illicit material was immediately found on the device in Gilmore’s possession at the time of his arrest; however, investigators are pursuing additional leads, including an older phone reportedly in possession of Gilmore’s girlfriend.
Gilmore was booked into the Nez Perce County Jail. He appeared in court in Thursday. Bond was set at $250,000.
