PULLMAN, WA – The Pullman Regional Hospital Auxiliary and the staff of the Red Sage Café have contributed a combined $49,692.79 toward patient comfort and care initiatives at Pullman Regional Hospital.
This year, the Auxiliary funded 23 internal grant awards totaling $47,039.79 to various hospital departments and clinics. In addition, Red Sage Café staff donated $2,653, collected through their annual tip jar campaign.
The funded items include:

BirthPlace support: Yarn and fabric for volunteer-made baby hats and rice bags, Halo Sleep Sacks for newborns, pumping bras, Baby K’tan wraps for infants experiencing opiate withdrawal, and a Mamaroo swing.

Comfort and home care tools: Gel seat cushions for wheelchairs, fabric for volunteer-made blankets for end-of-life patients, home care kits for heart failure and stroke patients, an oxygen concentrator for palliative care, an AccuVein device, a Barium swallow chair, and a red light therapy wrap.

Direct patient support and flexibility: Assistance for patients unable to afford medications, flexible funds through Care Coordination, and a patient pantry at the Residency Center.

Patient and staff education: Books and presentation materials for volunteer chaplains.

Pediatric care enhancements: A fully stocked pediatric resuscitation cart, toys and books for waiting rooms, and stuffed animals for pediatric patients.
The Pullman Regional Hospital Auxiliary generates funds through Diane’s Gift Garden sales, membership fees, donations, and seasonal fundraisers. Managed by a volunteer board and led by Auxiliary President Sharon Hall, the organization has contributed over $1 million to the hospital since its founding in 1968.
