PULLMAN, WA – Administration restructuring at Washington State University is underway under new President Elizabeth Cantwell.
The Office of Research will once again report directly to the president. The oversight change was announced in a press release posted on the institution’s website Thursday. The change will take effect Friday.
The release states that the shift aligns with Cantwell’s broader effort to strengthen institutional coherence and elevate WSU’s research impact. WSU Vice President Kim Christen will continue to lead the Office of Research.
The unit was moved out of the president’s office and into the provost’s office two years ago under former President Kirk Schulz. The Office of Research joins academics, operations and athletics as units that report to the president.
