CLARKSTON, WA – A Clarkston man has been arrested in connection to a series of theft and burglary incidents reported at Walmart between November 2024 and May 2025.
Anthony George Grogan, 37, was taken into custody on May 15 at a residence on Elm Street. According to court documents, Grogan was wanted for multiple incidents involving theft of merchandise and trespassing at Walmart locations where he had previously been banned.
The investigation began in December 2024 after officers responded to reports of theft at the store. Reports indicate Grogan entered the store on three occasions: November 11, November 30, and December 1. On two of those dates, officers allege Grogan exited the store with unpaid merchandise. On one occasion, he reportedly left with shoes and socks valued at nearly $40, and on another, he is accused of taking items valued at approximately $60. Officers also reported Grogan took a shopping cart off the property.
Grogan had previously been trespassed from Walmart in 2019. Investigators say probable cause exists to charge him with burglary, theft, and criminal trespass based on the repeated entries into the store.
On May 1, 2025, officers responded to a new report involving Grogan after Walmart Loss Prevention identified him as a suspect who had allegedly attempted to leave the store without paying for additional items. According to officers, Grogan placed a lower-priced tag on a backpack and attempted to leave the store after paying for select items. When approached by store staff, Grogan reportedly dropped the backpack and fled the store.
Officers located Grogan at a residence on May 15, where he was arrested without incident.
Grogan was transported to the Asotin County Jail and booked on three counts of second degree burglary, three counts of third degree theft, and two counts of second degree trespassing. He is expected to make his initial court appearance on Friday.
