SPOKANE, WA — The Spokane Police Department responded to a single-vehicle crash at Riverpark Square on the evening of May 15, 2025. The incident occurred at approximately 8:55 p.m. at 808 W Main Street.
According to police, a red Ford Mustang was traveling east on Main Street from Lincoln Street at a high rate of speed when it struck a parked vehicle. The impact caused the Mustang to lose control, cross onto the sidewalk, and collide with the building, smashing through a set of doors and causing extensive damage.
Witnesses reported that the vehicle swerved to avoid a person riding a scooter just prior to the crash. Officers assessed the driver at the scene and did not observe any signs of impairment. The driver, identified as Omar M. Khairi, 20, was transported to a local hospital for evaluation due to the severity of the collision.
Khairi was cited for Reckless Driving as a result of the incident.
