On-ramp to Eastbound I-84 at Burley Interchange to Close for Repaving

BURLEY, ID – The on-ramp to eastbound Interstate 84 at the Burley Interchange will close starting Monday morning, May 19, for repaving work, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced.

The closure is scheduled to begin at 6 a.m. Monday and continue through 11 p.m. Friday, May 23. During this time, motorists wanting to travel eastbound on I-84 will need to use the nearest alternative on-ramp at the Heyburn Interchange, located approximately five miles east at Exit 211.

Access to westbound I-84 from the Burley Interchange will remain open. ITD noted that two lanes will continue to be available in each direction on I-84 through the area, though the speed limit will be reduced to 65 miles per hour within the work zone.

The repaving work is part of the larger ongoing project to update both the Burley and Heyburn interchanges, which began in 2024. Funded through Governor Brad Little’s Leading Idaho transportation initiative, the project aims to address growing traffic demands, improve safety and mobility, and support economic growth in the Magic Valley and surrounding communities.
