Armed Suspect Arrested After Late-Night Standoff in Bonneville County, Idaho

BONNEVILLE COUNTY, ID – A tense situation unfolded late Friday night, May 16, 2025, when Idaho State Police responded to a report of a vehicle driving dangerously along US26 near 175th East. The vehicle, reportedly missing a tire and riding on its rim, was first spotted around 9:32 p.m.

After pulling over, the driver exited the vehicle and disappeared into a nearby field. At 10:02 p.m., a trooper located the unoccupied car, which was still running. Roughly 20 minutes later, the trooper found the suspect, who was armed with a rifle and reportedly made suicidal statements. A standoff ensued, prompting a response from the Bonneville County SWAT team.

After nearly two hours of negotiation, the suspect surrendered without incident at 12:02 a.m. and was taken into custody.

The individual, identified as 34-year-old Trevor A. Clark of Ririe, was booked into the Bonneville County Jail. He faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and assault on a peace officer.

No injuries were reported, and the incident remains under investigation.
