LAPWAI ID – Nez Perce Tribal Police have confirmed that Louis E. Harris, who was the subject of a recent missing person alert, was found deceased on Monday, May 19, 2025.
According to a statement from the department, officers from Nez Perce Tribal Police and Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Wild Rose Grade in Lapwai for a report of a vehicle over an embankment. The reporting party indicated the vehicle matched the description of the red Chevrolet S-10 Harris was last seen driving.
Upon arrival, law enforcement located the vehicle and confirmed that Harris was deceased at the scene. His family has been notified.
Nez Perce Tribal Police expressed their condolences to Harris’ family and friends and thanked the community members who assisted in the search.
