COLFAX, WA – The Port of Whitman County has received a half a million dollar federal grant to cleanup the site for the proposed new clinic in St. John.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded the grant to cleanup the old gas station property at Front and Main Streets. The port announced last fall that they were buying the property to lease the ground to Whitman Hospital and Medical Clinics in Colfax.
The plan calls for the hospital to build and operate a new clinic at the site. The current WHMC clinic in St. John is overcrowded.
