BOISE, ID – The Idaho Department of Education, in collaboration with the Professional Standards Commission, is now offering free access to the ProEthica Professional Development Course for school administrators across the state.
This ethics training is part of a broader initiative aimed at supporting school leaders in making sound decisions grounded in professional standards. The seven-part course is based on the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification’s Model Code of Ethics for Educators, which aligns with Idaho’s own Code of Ethics for Professional Educators.
Each module in the ProEthica series takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes to complete and provides guidance and principles designed to help administrators navigate complex ethical decisions.
“Helping Idaho’s school leaders better understand ways to navigate ethical decision-making means offering them the right tools for success, and ProEthica’s training course does just that,” said Superintendent Debbie Critchfield. “We want to ensure that administrators feel that they have the appropriate preparation and ongoing support needed to make sound decisions and create a lasting and impactful career in roles that are so essential to our students and educational communities.”
Access to the training has been granted to all superintendents, charter school administrators, and principals listed in the Idaho District Contact Information database. Additional staff may gain access by contacting Victoria Del Toro, Ethics and Background Checks Program Specialist, at vdeltoro@sde.idaho.gov.
