Whitman County Man Convicted of Third-Degree Rape, Sentencing Set for July

COLFAX, WA – A Whitman County jury has convicted Isaac Andrade of one count of Rape in the Third Degree, according to a press release issued Friday, May 23, 2025, by the Whitman County Prosecutor’s Office.

Senior Deputy Prosecutor Tessa Scholl, who handled the case, stated that Andrade now faces a sentence ranging from 6 to 12 months in jail. The sentencing guidelines prevent the court from exceeding this standard range. Scholl confirmed that she will be recommending the maximum sentence of 12 months.

As part of the court’s post-conviction requirements, Andrade will be required to register as a sex offender and will be placed under supervision by the Department of Corrections upon release. In addition, a Sexual Assault Protection Order will remain in effect for the victim, identified as Jane Doe, for a period of five years.

“Jane Doe was very brave in disclosing this sexual assault and being willing to testify at trial,” Scholl said in the statement. “Without her tenacity and strength we would have been unable to hold Mr. Andrade accountable for his crime.”

Judge Roger Sandberg has scheduled a sentencing hearing for July 18, 2025.

For further information, inquiries may be directed to Senior Deputy Prosecutor Tessa Scholl.
