Parsells Secures All-American Honor to Cap Career

MARION, IN – Griffen Parsells capped his LC State career with an All-American finish in the 800m to close out the 2025 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. Trenton Johnson also had a strong showing in the triple jump to conclude the season for the Warriors.

Parsells finished sixth overall in the 800m race with a time of 1:51.42. The senior wrapped up his LC State career with his fifth All-American accolade overall and third in an individual 800m race.

“Another good race for Griffen,” coach Mike Collins said. “You can look at the times from one through eight and hardly see any difference between any of them. Run that race 10 times and we might have a different winner every single time and a different order. Griffen has had a stellar career and it is nice to see him walk away with a medal around his neck. For us, there never is an ending, just a restart, and I like the way he has restarted us for the fall. He, and all my other seniors, will be missed, but they have made an impact that will never be erased.”

Johnson finished nine spots above his ranking in the triple jump. The junior was seeded 19th in the event heading into the meet and placed 10th overall with his 14.54m leap.

“Great effort today by TJ (Johnson),” Collins said. “He was just one spot out from making the final. They scratched a big jump that would have gotten him to the final, but that is the nature of the event. Great season for him.”
