RIGGINS, ID — Bluetick Coffee has been named one of Idaho’s Small Businesses of the Month for June 2025 as part of U.S. Senator Jim Risch’s “Support Local Gems” initiative, which highlights standout small businesses across the state. The recognition was announced ahead of the statewide event scheduled for June 6.
Senator Risch, who relaunched the Support Local Gems initiative to encourage Idahoans to shop local, praised Bluetick Coffee for its commitment to community values and Idaho-made products. The business was selected for its local impact and continued growth since its founding in 2021.
Bluetick Coffee was launched by Julie Kinskie shortly after moving to Idaho County with her family. What began as a small coffee stand has since expanded to four locations in Riggins, Grangeville, New Meadows, and Kamiah, with plans underway for a fifth.
Kinskie’s approach has been deeply rooted in community support. Bluetick Coffee sources its beans locally, roasts them in-house, and partners with Cross O Meats for locally made beef sticks. In addition to prioritizing Idaho-sourced goods, the business provides discounts to law enforcement, first responders, and teachers.
Senator Risch noted that Bluetick Coffee exemplifies the spirit of Idaho entrepreneurship, adding, “You are an outstanding example of what it means to be one of Idaho’s Local Gems. You make our great state proud.”
The Support Local Gems campaign began as a way to recognize the vital role of small businesses in Idaho’s economy and to promote continued patronage by residents.
