LEWISTON, ID – A Clarkston man already in custody for felony stalking is now facing an additional felony charge after allegedly damaging a sprinkler system inside the Nez Perce County Jail on Saturday afternoon.
Keegan C. Brown, 19, of Clarkston, was charged with Injury to Jail following an incident that occurred in his jail cell, according to a report filed by the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office.
Brown, who was arrested last month in Juliaetta by a multi-agency task force after evading authorities on a felony warrant, is accused of intentionally tampering with a fire sprinkler in the cell where he was being housed at the Nez Perce County Jail. The broken sprinkler triggered the fire alarm system and prompted an emergency response, though there was no actual fire.
Deputies were able to quickly shut off the sprinkler’s water supply and silence the alarm system. The Lewiston Fire Department responded to the facility as a precautionary measure but quickly cleared the scene after being briefed. The sprinkler head was quickly replaced and the fire suppression system was restored to working order.
Brown is now facing an additional felony charge for damaging jail property.
The original charges against Brown stem from a separate case. On April 8, 2025, an arrest warrant was issued for Brown, charging him with Probation Violation stemming from a prior conviction of Stalking in the First Degree. Authorities say Brown has a history of violence and threatening behavior in Idaho and Washington.
Agencies from multiple jurisdictions, including the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service, participated in his arrest in Juliaetta on April 10.
The investigation into the most recent incident is ongoing. Brown is still being held without bond at the Nez Perce County Jail.
