LEWISTON, ID – LC State Men’s Basketball announced the next addition to its incoming class in Jaaziel Pierce. The 6-7 forward will join the Warriors in the fall out of Saint George’s School.
“Jaaziel has as impressive of a motor as you’ll see in a high school recruit,” coach Austin Johnson said. “Coach Peplinski at St. George’s really helped him expand his game and put him in spots to succeed. Jaaziel can space the floor, get a rebound and run the break and defend multiple spots but so much of his value goes back to how hard he plays. He has battled through injuries, but when healthy he is a high-level player that constantly impacts winning. Jaaziel has challenged himself as a student, athlete and competitor at every turn and we’re excited to him develop further at LC State.”
Pierce is a two-time all-league honoree for the Dragons and also competed in soccer and track and field. The native of Spokane played AAU for Hooptown Elite under coach Jim Psomas.
“I’m excited about coming to LC State,” Pierce said. “I feel it is the right fit for me. The basketball program, education, community and the players currently on the team are what set it apart in the recruiting process. I really believe LC is the best place for me on and off the court.”
