Trinity Duncan of Orofino Named IHSAA Interscholastic Star Honoree for 2025

BOISE, ID — The Idaho High School Activities Association (IHSAA) has announced six high school juniors as recipients of the 2024-2025 Interscholastic Star Student Recognition Awards. Among them is Trinity Duncan of Orofino High School, who was selected as the 3A classification honoree.

The annual scholarship program, sponsored by First Federal Bank and the IHSAA, recognizes students who demonstrate excellence in athletics and activities, leadership, and community service.

The full list of recipients includes:

  • Gracie Ford, Lake City High School (6A) — also named the overall 2025 “Idaho Star”

  • Erika Whitmore, Columbia High School (5A)

  • Samantha Parsons, Payette High School (4A)

  • Trinity Duncan, Orofino High School (3A)

  • Mattea Thomas, Shoshone High School (2A)

  • Ceder Saxton, Cascade High School (1A)

Each student receives a $1,000 scholarship to the college of their choice, and their schools are awarded $500. The overall Idaho Star, Gracie Ford, receives an additional $1,500 scholarship and will be featured on the back cover of the 2025-2026 state tournament programs.

Trinity Duncan participates in student council, cheerleading, volleyball, and softball. She is also a National Honor Society member, reads to students at a local elementary school, and is active in church activities.

Award criteria include a written essay, administrator recommendations, and a record of school and community involvement that exemplifies sportsmanship, leadership, and citizenship.
