Homicide Suspect Sought Following Death of Woman in Yakima Valley

UPDATED 12:15 p.m.: UNION GAP, WA – Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a man suspected in the homicide of a 63-year-old woman found dead in her Union Gap home over the weekend.

Union Gap Police were dispatched on May 25 to conduct a welfare check at a residence in the 2100 block of Cornell Avenue. Inside, officers discovered Teena Parise deceased along with her dogs. The case is being investigated as a homicide.

On May 27, detectives submitted probable cause documents to the Yakima County Prosecutor’s Office, resulting in an arrest warrant for 33-year-old Jose J. Quezada. He is wanted on charges of first-degree domestic violence murder and two counts of first-degree domestic violence animal cruelty. Police say Quezada was known to the victim and lived at the residence at the time of the incident.

Investigators believe Quezada has fled Yakima County in a white 2013 Dodge Caravan with California license plate 9SNU745.

The Washington State Patrol Crime Scene Response Team assisted in the investigation, which remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Union Gap Police Department at (509) 248-0430 and speak with a detective.
